The Job Cafe was last week with an own booth at the IKOM, one of the largest career forum in Germany. There were many renowned local companies, the fair was generally very well attended and the fair organizers were pleased.

Wir haben für Euch hier die fünf häufigsten Irrtümer beim Erstellen des Lebenslaufes zusammengestellt:
1. Ein Lebenslauf muss auf eine Seite passen (falsch)
– Der Lebenslauf sollte der Vita angepasst sein. Ein Lebenslauf eines Abiturienten passt auf eine Seite. Später braucht man zwei Seiten, noch später vielleicht drei oder vier. Entscheidend sind Qualität und Prägnanz.
2. Die Reihenfolge sollte chronologisch sein (Ansichtssache)
– Früher war das so. Heute sollte er sich besser umgekehrt vom aktuellen in die Vergangenheit spannen (antichronologisch), because the recruiter will quickly see what you are doing currently or has recently done. Where one was in grade school, interested in the current position is not real and therefore belongs to a rear position in the CV.
third What does the letter I must not repeat the resume, because that would be "my song" (wrong)
- One must not assume that a cover letter and resume to be kept "together", if HR ruling passed on to the department. Some read only the first or resume, some only the cover letter. Both should be relevant to the decision to stay in memory (and be created and certainly not as "template"!). Each notice immediately that you have not taken the trouble to design a customized cover letter specific to a particular place and that can possibly ruin everything.
4th As a personal name and address data is sufficient (false)
- Often, personal data such as e-mail address and telephone number is not specified or only on the cover page. It is however recommended to provide this contact information in the resume. Shall submit a brief look at the CV and the recruiter can contact you directly and possibly invite for an interview.
5th Details zur Berufserfahrung müssen kurz und knapp gehalten werden (falsch)
- Praktische berufliche Erfahrungen während und nach dem Studium sind wichtige Bestandteile des Lebenslaufes. Dabei sollte nicht einfach stumpf aufgezählt werden, wann man bei welcher Firma gearbeitet hat. Stattdessen ist es sinnvoll, neben Dauer des Beschäftigungsverhältnisses, Firma und Ort auch den Bereich anzugeben, in dem man tätig war sowie eine stichpunktartige Beschreibung der wichtigsten Tätigkeiten.
