Dem Kampf um den Begriff Kommunismus kann die Partei Die Linke nicht ausweichen. Tut sie es dennoch, trennt sie sich von ihrer eigenen Geschichte, denn diese ist die Geschichte des Sozialismus, und ihr Gründungsdokument ist das »Manifest der Kommunistischen Partei« von Karl Marx und Friedrich Engels. Verzichtet sie auf die Verteidigung des Begriffs, isoliert sie sich in Deutschland gegenüber vielen, die als Mitglieder der Partei Die Linke oder außerhalb stehend sich als Kommunisten .
